Quality & Traceability

What we do, and what we can prove

Anyone can call their fruit special. This page is the part you can check: how the fruit is handled, what we can put on paper, and what we do not have.

From tree to carton

  1. 1

    Picked in its own season

Green Yuzu in August and September. October Yuzu in October. Golden Yuzu from November to late January. Each is picked in its season and not outside it.

  2. 2

    Rested before grading

Fruit is not packed on the day it is picked. It rests for two to three days first, because damage from the tree's own thorns does not show immediately — and fruit packed too early can arrive spoiled. Every fruit is then graded by the grower.

  3. 3

    Labelled by hand

Every carton leaves with a shipping slip carrying the producer's name, address, telephone number and product name, and the shipping date written on the box by the grower.

  4. 4

    Handed to the trading partner

Import procedures with the Singapore Food Agency are handled on the Singapore side by our trading partner.

How each of the three gets its colour

One of our three fresh products is coloured after picking.

ProductSeasonHow the colour happens
Green Yuzu August – September Picked green, shipped green. No post-harvest treatment.
October Yuzu October Picked green, then held two to three days in a controlled room with ethylene so the skin turns gold. Standard practice in Kochi. Treated after harvest.
Golden Yuzu November – late January Coloured on the tree by the winter cold. No post-harvest treatment.

Degreening changes the colour of the peel and nothing else. It does not make the fruit sweeter, sharper or more aromatic. No dye or colour additive is used at any point.

After — two to three days later, ready to ship

Traceability

Every carton that leaves the farm carries a shipping slip with the producer's name, address, telephone number and product name, and the shipping date written on the box by hand. We track each shipment as far as our logistics partner's door; beyond that point, transit is in our partners' hands. What no handover can change is what is written on the box. Quote the shipping date written on your carton, and the person who answers is the one who graded that fruit.

What we can put on paper

  • Carton labelling specification
  • Producer name, address, telephone number and product name on the shipping slip; shipping date written on every carton

What we do not have

We hold no pesticide residue test report for the fresh fruit. Testing so far has covered juice only. We are not certified organic, and we do not farm without pesticides. If your purchasing process needs a residue report for fresh fruit, tell us early — testing has to be arranged during the harvest season, not after it.

We make no health or nutrition claims about yuzu, in line with Singapore food advertising rules.
